Spa Escape In Bournemouth… Ocean Beach Hotel And Spa Review

If you know me a bit you probably have heard how I love Spas, Sea Views and food so I’m beyond excited when I get invited to review amazing spas, hotels and restaurants. We don’t have to go far as Bournemouth and Dorset has got so many amazing places and I’m planning to visit lots of them so keep your eyes peeled.

On the 4th of November 2018 we went with my friend, a locally and nationally known nutritionist and amazing personality Barbara Cox to check out the Ocean Beach Hotel and Spa which is part of the Oceana Beach Hotels.

When we spoke about our collaboration with Eugenia, I specifically asked about a sea view room as there isn’t anything better than waking up to the sea view right? Just have a look, so magical…

We’ve been welcomed by lovely receptionist and Eugenia the Digital Associate.

After checking in we quickly got changed and went to relax in the spa at the Suncliff hotel, which is just next door and as is a sister hotel. All of the guests from the Ocean Beach Hotel can use the renovated pool, sauna and the spa area. Just have a look at it isn’t it beautiful?

 

Next day we started with a lovely breakfast which consisted of the traditional and the continental breakfast, of course I went for the full English breakfast option and it was delicious.

After the breakfast we headed to the Oceana Day Spa for our treatments. I chose the full body hot stone massage and it was amazing. I was so relaxed and my body felt rejuvenated. You can see all of the amazing treatments here. 

Barbara decided to go for the full body scrub and she told me that it was amazing too, she also treated herself to a pedicure, because why not treating yourself?

After the lovely treatments as it was my Birthday month Barbara treated me to a lovely lunch and Prosecco this time at the Cumberland Hotel at the Ventana Café. I haven’t been there before, but the food was gorgeous so definitely going back there soon and the views, what more could I ask for?

What I loved about our stay is that we didn’t really have go far to feel like we were on holiday, to unwind, relax. Bournemouth has got so many amazing hotels and Oceana Beach Hotel is definitely worth visiting if you are planning to come to Bournemouth for a little holiday.

If that wasn’t enough excitement for the day, we were booked for an amazing three course dinner at the Italian Café.

I wouldn’t be myself if I would not order a Hawaiian pizza. There are people who don’t agree with putting a pineapple on the pizza, but I’m definitely not one of those people.

Barbara went for more sophisticated option a seafood linguini. The waiter suggested a beautiful red wine from Tuscany would go very well without food choices, he was right it was delicious.

I absolutely loved our little stay at the Ocean Beach Hotel and I would definitely recommend it if you are looking to book a nice sea view hotel as a couple for the Valentines day or a family getaway or if you are local and just need a little escape and time to relax. The beach is literally a few meters from the hotel so you can have a morning jog if you wish.

Why I haven’t Been Blogging Since 2017?

So it’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post. I even started to call myself an “influencer “ instead of a “ blogger” just to feel a little bit less guilty about it. Everyone chooses their own path and social media platform that they prefer and I fell in love with Instagram. Building my Instagram community was my priority in 2017 and 2018. However now is the time to give more value to my followers, readers and brands that I work with that’s why I decided to come back and share with you some of the exciting places, hotels, spas, restaurants I’m visiting as well as the wellness brands on my blog as well as on my Instagram.

When I started my blog it was my way to deal with my anxiety, limiting beliefs and the past experiences. I thought that I’ll be sharing my journey and I’ll help myself as much as I’ll be able to help to inspire and motivate you to believe in yourself, to follow your dreams and to understand that your past doesn’t have to be the same as your future. So I’ve put million of ideas, titles that I was going to write about and then I ” blocked myself” if you know what I mean. Do you have that time when you know ” you suppose to do something” you know that you suppose to do it, you love to do it, but there is that invisible line that keeps you stuck, then you procrastinate and then you procrastinate more , then you feel like you aren’t any good at it anymore and you give up for some time on yourself and you dream… well at least at a part of your dream…Well that was how I sort of felt about my blog, my English isn’t obviously my first language so that didn’t help. I just told myself that wasn’t good enough to blog and I started to believe in that b…t Well I did most of the stuff on Instagram because I found it more instant, real and easier…

As Tony Robbins says “our brain isn’t design to make us happy , but to ” keep us safe ” so anything that you do that is out of your comfort zone doesn’t feel particularly great, well if feel scary to be exact.

So the past two years were a big learning curve for me I quit the full time job/client to pursue the blogging/influencer dream and trust me it isn’t all roses… there are times when I just want to quit it all delete my Facebook, Instagram and move to sunny Spain to sell Pina Coladas at the beach, but I think I’m not ready to quit on my dream just yet 🙂 Moving to Spain, hmm that might happen sooner than later, well let’s see how it goes, but I definitely prefer the sunny climate, so having summer all year around is my goal.

Anyway enough of rambling, doubting myself, time to take some action, new blog post coming soon, thanks for sticking with me I appreciate that.

And Remember, Never Stop Dreaming!

10 Awesome New Year’s Resolutions For A Happy 2017

Yes, it’s that time of the year again, 31 December 2016! It’s been an amazing year for me! I’ve moved a few times, changed position at work, met many incredible people. I’ve travelled to Malta, Ibiza and Poland. I’ve started my blog that I am very proud of, I’ve grown as a person. I made lots of mistakes and I’ve learned from some of them, the other ones I am still making over and over again hehe that’s life! I would like to share with you my New Year’s resolutions because I believe that you would benefit from them as much as I would (well at least some of them heh) Let’s do this!

1. Talk less Listen more

We learn more by listening and asking the right questions not by talking. I like to talk a lot so this will be a challenging one for me. Well let’s try, shall we?

2. Be less judgmental towards yourself and others

I often find myself judging myself and others in my head. I want to stop that and be happy and content with who I am inside and outside and understand that other people’s perceptions are different than mine.

3. Stop comparing yourself

Looking at Instagram or social media you can easily fall into the trap of comparing yourself with other people. You have to realise that the real life happens behind the screen, so stop comparing yourself to Instagram posts it’s like comparing real life to a movie, edited perfect, life is beautiful as it is with all challenges and failures. Create your own definition of “happy” and leave it!

4. Let go of the past

Those who live in the past are depressed those who live in the future are anxious, happiness is found in a present moment. Let go of the past experiences that hold you back. I know it’s not easy, but you’ll never be happy if you’ll be living in the past. You can’t change your past, close the door behind, leave 2016 challenges in there, learn from them and move on to 2017 with a fresh mindset.

5. Be more present

When you are with someone, be with them, not on your phone , looking around. I’m saying it to myself as much as I’m saying it to you. Very often I find myself having a meal with a friend and instead of being present and engage in the conversation I am already thinking about the next picture of the food that I will put on Instagram, how sad is that ? Yeah I know! From the New Year I
will bring more “me” to the present moment, will you?

6. Improve your health by creating a new healthy habit

Your brain can’t just unlearn things leaving an empty space in your subconscious mind. If you stop smoking for example you have to replace that unhealthy habit with another, healthy one, like for example having some healthy snack instead of a cigaret.

We all have different health challenges. Some of us would like to lose weight, the others start exercising, drink more water, be more fit. I need lose 10kg by the end of 2017, yes I said it! ouch

Yep, I think this is one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions. I was thinking if I should write it down, but I did it to keep myself accountable so I can look back at this blog at the end of the year and see if I achieved my goals. Keep your fingers crossed!

7. Make your morning routine non-negotiable

Start with yourself and “put your oxygen mask on first” Exercise, meditate and be grateful every morning it’ll help you to get through a day with healthy spirit, body and mind.

8. Make your own and others people life easier

Very often I see other people making their life more difficult than necessary. If you know that you can’t sew to save your life, don’t spend 10 hours of your day being frustrated to learn how to do it, pay someone a few pounds and get it done! I see more often so many people having the mentality of doing everything themselves, but why? You never going to know how to do everything, you should rather pay someone to do the job that you can’t or hate doing and help others by doing what you are good at!

9. De-clutter your space

Getting rid of the stuff gives me that “cathartic “feeling. I’m sure that you’ve heard phrases such as “clear your space and clear your mind”! When you de-clutter your space you’ll have such a clear mind and open space for the new things you actually do love.

10. Forgive yourself and others

Forgive yourself and let go of the things that are in the past and you can’t change. Learn from your mistakes, but don’t drug them
to the 2017!

My First Blog :)

After many years of procrastination and thinking about having my own blog and sharing my passions I finally decided to take some action! Why did I waited for so long? I don’t know! I think it might have been just a fear of judgment? I didn’t know and I still don’t know if you will be interested in what I have to share, but I have to share it … I just feel that everyone , you and I have something that can help someone else and we need to share that gift that only we have… It might be a skill that I have that will help you to improve your life or the challenge that I went through that can help you to overcome your own challenges. I don’t know… I just have to share what I know with you …my passion for healthy living and my weightloss journey, my social media addiction and extreme desire to motivate people to find their happiness and their own success . Yes… the voice in my head become too loud and I can’t listen to it any longer! I want to motivate myself and you to be the best version of yourself! … If only my blog will help you to overcome a challenge in your life or make a small impact I will be extremely happy!

I am Ewelina. Polish woman who came to Bournemouth, UK in 2006,  for 6 months and stayed for over 10 years. Marketing Executive passionate about social media, self-development,ex badminton player, ex dancer, full time foodie:)  Hoping to share with you my weightloss  journey and the daily adventures, marketing tips and many other things that I am passionate about.

My beginnings in the UK weren’t easy… Coming to live in another country without knowing how to speak English was for some people a crazy idea , but for me it was the beginning of my new journey , the journey to find my real self, my passion, the new way of living…
